My mental health, in brief

Everything a journalist, researcher or partner needs to describe My mental health accurately — our mission, how people join, what the community rooms are, and how to reach us.

Our mission

Nobody in the UK should have to carry a hard day alone. My mental health exists to make support feel ordinary and within reach — a private place to notice how you're doing, honest advice written in plain English, and a community of people who understand what a bad week actually feels like. We're not a replacement for professional care: we're the everyday layer around it, with clear routes to UK crisis services whenever things get heavy.

How people join

  1. 1. Create a free account

Register with an email address or sign in with Google — under a minute, no cost.

  2. 2. Do a first two-minute check-in

Mood, energy, sleep and a line about the day. Always private to the member.

  3. 3. Join a room when ready

Members read and post only in the rooms they choose to join.

The community rooms

Six topic-based spaces, each moderated, with member reporting and clear community guidelines. Only members of a room can read what's said inside it.

General

Day-to-day chat about whatever's on your mind — good days and hard ones.

Anxiety

Racing thoughts, worry spirals and what actually helps in the moment.

Low mood

For the flat, heavy days — company from people who know them well.

Sleep

Sleepless nights, restless minds and gentler wind-down routines.

Wins

Small victories worth celebrating, from getting dressed to big milestones.

Veterans

A dedicated space for UK veterans, with forces-aware support and contacts.

Safety position

My mental health is not a crisis service and is not monitored in an emergency. Every page signposts UK crisis support — Samaritans (116 123), Shout (text 85258), NHS 111 and 999 — and the app includes a dedicated crisis page, a safety check-in workflow and one-tap emergency actions. Members can report any message, and moderators review every report.
